I flipped the release valve on my pressure cooker the other day and thought… huh… this is just like my mind.
It gets so jam-packed with ideas, thoughts, and worries that at some point, you’ve got to stop and let the steam out.For me, that means writing.
Unload it. Spill it out. Release the pressure. Sometimes it’s on paper, but more often it’s on the laptop—words coming faster than I can think them.
Writing lets you say what you wouldn’t dare say out loud.
It lets you admit what you truly feel.
It lets you explore what you really want.
And once it’s out… there’s space again.
I worry about our environment, so I write middle grade adventure stories that invite kids to love and protect this planet.
I worry about kindness—about fairness, about respect for animals, for nature, for each other—so I find ways to weave those truths into my stories without preaching.
And sometimes… I just want to make people laugh.
That’s where Bunny Unfiltered came in—my little pressure-release valve for humor. A place for mischief, for heart, and for the kind of laughter that sneaks up on you when you need it most.
Because whether it’s adventure or absurdity, it all comes from the same place—
a mind that works a little better once the pressure is released.
And now, as Bunny takes her final bow, I find myself opening another door.
The next story I’ll be sharing here is different. Quieter, perhaps. Older. One I wrote years ago and never quite let go of. Her name is Adeline, and soon, I’ll be releasing her story one chapter at a time.
Because some stories don’t leave you. They quietly wait.
